WRCLA Architect Knotty

Rustic charm at its best. This sound and tight knotted decking limits both the size and quality of knots to meet the highest buyer expectations. The smooth, skip-free dressing over the entire face makes it the ideal deck surface. The top choice where the natural beauty and lasting charm of a knotty deck are desired.

WRCLA Custom Knotty
This category of knotty decking combines the high manufacturing standards required for deck boards with a hole-free knotty appearance. Limits the size and quality of knots, but will have larger knots than Architectural Knotty. A natural choice where an economical and durable knotty material is desired.

We recommend Architect Knotty - S4S (Surfaced Four Sides) grade decking as it will have fewer and smaller knots. Clear grade cedar is available via special order but you should expect to pay 3-4 times the cost of knotty grades. Cedar needs to be sealed on a regular basis to help prevent water damage. Even with good maintenance the average life for a Cedar deck is approximately 15 years. You should expect less than this if your deck is low to grade or in shaded conditions.
